RURAL TV Headlines At Europe’s No. 1 American Lifestyle Event

London, 23 June 2009 – RURAL TV, the world’s rural channel, reaching into more than 10-million UK homes on Sky Channel 279 and Freesat 403 will be taking part in this year’s Americana International festival running July 10 thru 12. Americana International, which attracts some 70,000 visitors annually, is Europe’s number one American lifestyle event.

More than 40 well known music artists from the US and Europe will gather, along with RURAL TV, at the massive county showground in Newark, Nottinghamshire.  Americana International, a massive tribute to American rock, rockabilly and country music, as well as culture, offers a multitude of attractions targeted to the tens of thousands of like-minded lifestyle enthusiasts from around the world.

“For nearly three decades this event has given its faithful supporters a long weekend of cool American music, great cars, stunning motorcycles, classic trucks and RV’s,” says festival organiser Chris Jackson. “This is a chance to take part in the ‘American Dream’ and rock-out at a one-of-a-kind festival like no other.”

Dan Kripke, VP and General Manager at RURAL TV, adds, “The great folks at Americana International have created an amazing weekend that has no equal anywhere outside of the USA.  Americana is, in no way, your average car or music event, it’s more like a massive party that invites you to live loud and be proud.  This is a festival of American flavours that’s got something for everyone.”

Forty-two popular artists from the US, Europe and UK have been confirmed to perform an immense selection of rock, country, R&B, blues and alternative music from the last five decades. “In addition to the incredible music line-up,” added Bev Jackson, Chris’ wife and festival co-organiser, “The Saturday and Sunday auto/bike displays are second to none with a huge number of top class cars and motorcycles entering the specially judged 'show and shine' displays.”

RURAL TV, a unique and innovative 24-hour, international, multi-media source for rural lifestyle, farming, equestrian and country music entertainment, will be on-hand at the festival all three days.  “The country music programmes we air on RURAL TV have consistently received an overwhelmingly positive response, especially here in the UK,” said Kripke.  “This is a great opportunity for us to meet with our existing viewers, and to introduce ourselves to new viewers who are discovering how RURAL TV helps them to bridge the gaps in the UK/Europe for country music entertainment.” For more information, visit: www.ruraltv.tv or www.americana-international.co.uk.
