RURAL TV Receives Royal ‘Homecoming’ For Scotland’s Highland Show

London, 9 June 2009 – RURAL TV, the world’s rural channel, reaching into more than 10-million UK homes on Sky Channel 279 and Freesat 403, will be a featured presence at this year’s Royal Highland Show in Scotland.  The “Highland” is one of Scotland’s top events, attracting some 160,000 visitors annually.

RURAL TV, a unique and innovative 24-hour, international, multi-media source for rural lifestyle, farming, equestrian and country music entertainment, now with global headquarters in London, will be involved in promoting crucial aspects of this year’s Royal Highland Show.

“This summer the Royal Highland Show is involved in a major campaign to welcome members of the international farming community to the country as part of a ‘global homecoming’ to Scotland, “ stated Dan Kripke, VP and General Manager for RURAL TV.  “As part of our commitment to this great event, we’re doing our part to help attract more and more people to the show in order to experience part of Scotland’s rural life and to gain insight as to what goes on in the working countryside.”

Held since 1960 at the Royal Highland Centre at Ingliston, the show focuses on a celebration of Scottish rural life.  Farming, country lifestyle and time-honoured rural activities have played an integral part of this event since it was first established in 1822.  Now, in 2009, this successful mixture of heritage and entertainment make this show one of the most important on the national and international rural events calendars.

Show Manager David Dunsmuir added, “Our regular visitors know what to expect but it is important to keep refreshing the programme. Each year we add a little more to the mix and new visitors will be amazed at the variety on offer. There’s a host of attractions to enjoy making it a day out to remember!”

The Royal Highland Show takes place this June 25th thru 28th. Admission price on all four days is £22 with concessions at £17. Discounts are available for pre-booked tickets. For more details, please visit RURAL TV’s web site: www.ruraltv.tv.
