RURAL TV Launches Survey of Country Music at Americana International
London, 10 July 2009 – Today RURAL TV, the world’s rural channel, is launching it’s first survey of country music at Americana International, Europe’s number one American lifestyle event, expected to attract some 70,000 over the next two-days. The survey is an effort by the channel to effectively gauge the level of interest in country music entertainment in the UK and Europe.
Since launching in the UK in March of 2009, this survey represents the first major targeted effort by RURAL TV to reach out to viewers in an endeavour to bring more televised country music entertainment to the some 10-million homes served via the global channel’s distribution on Sky Channel 279 and Freesat 403.
“The first thing we learned as we began broadcasting in the UK is exactly how passionate folks in the UK are about music, especially traditional country, “ stated Patrick Gottsch, President and Founder of Rural Media Group, Ltd., parent company of RURAL TV. “Our current programmes like The Marty Stuart Show and Pop Goes the Country have already amassed a highly dedicated viewership here and with this survey, we hope to find out what other types of music programmes people want on TV.”
RURAL TV, a unique and innovative 24-hour, international, multi-media source for rural lifestyle, farming, equestrian and country music entertainment, will be on-hand at the Americana International festival all three days passing out copies of the survey to attendees. In addition, advance copies of the survey have already been distributed to the UK’s top country music stations and publications for broader promotion across the UK. The survey will also be made available online at: www.ruraltv.tv. The channel is encouraging everyone to visit the web site and complete the brief survey, which will be made available online after the event.
“The country music programmes we air on RURAL TV have consistently received an overwhelmingly positive response, especially here in the UK,” reiterated Gottsch. “This survey is a great opportunity for us to connect with our existing viewership, and to reach out to new viewers who are discovering RURAL TV’s current unique blend of country music offerings.”
To the channel’s current viewers and, “those who are passionate about country music,” Gottsch concluded, “We hope you will note with great pride and anticipation that, because of your participation in this survey, RURAL TV is going to be providing you with ever more and increasingly better country music entertainment.” To participate in the survey, please visit www.ruraltv.tv.
